I first came to Haines in 1982 after a two-month sea kayak trip around Southeast Alaska. I spent a month visiting friends and had an excellent first impression of the area. I liked the combination of climates in the Northern Lynn Canal: coastal and interior.

I moved here in 1987 and bought an existing bike shop the end of that year. I acquired Trek and Specialized as my primary lines and concentrated on the retail aspects of the bicycle business. I began offering bicycle tours and rentals the following year.

During the summer of 1992 I built a shop in Skagway to provide for the bicycle needs of both locals and visitors. My business has grown and I now have about twenty full-time (seasonal) employees. We enjoy providing for the small town retail bike needs and taking our clients out on our wide variety of bicycle tours.

We are the oldest operating full service bicycle business in Alaska.
